Workshop Chat With Guy & Dave

Guy Martin is no stranger to a mechanics workshop, whether he is working on trucks, tractors or his 300mph mile bike. He knows the importance of using the correct oils, greases and lubricants to make sure they are all running at optimal performance.

In a new series of videos called ‘Workshop Chat’ Morris Lubricants’ Technology Manager, Adrian Hill catches up with the company’s brand ambassadors Guy Martin and Truck Racer Dave Jenkins to discuss the changes and developments they have seen for oils and lubricants in their garages at work, at the race track and at home. They consider the importance of selecting the correct oils for these very different environments and the crucial differences in these products that ensure their vehicles maintain optimum performance.

Each episode sees Guy, Dave & Adrian review the different uses of oils, greases and lubricants in the workshops they operate. Episode one looks at their place of work maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles. Episode two heads to the track to look at Dave’s race truck. Episode three sees Guy explain to Adrian and Dave the latest updates on his 300mph mile bike challenge. Episode four takes a technical review of Guy’s 300mph bike that puts Morris Lubricants products to the ultimate test. Episode five reviews Guy & Dave’s use of Morris Lubricants products in their workshops at home. Then to finish the series, a quick-fire round of questions that looks at Guy & Dave’s favourite event, dream vehicle, their go-to product and why they trust Morris Lubricants with all their vehicles.

Episode 1 - Commercial Vehicle Workshop Oils

In this episode, Guy Martin and Dave Jenkins discuss with Morris Lubricants’ Technology Manager Adrian Hill, the developments they have seen for commercial vehicle oils and lubricants in their workshops. As Dave owns and manages a service and repair garage it is important that he and his customers can feel confident that the products he uses in their vehicles are correct and going to do the job. Whereas Guy is a truck mechanic working on commercial vehicles in a workshop and sees lorries, trucks and HGVs that do large amounts of mileage, so therefore reliability and performance are the key issues.

Episode 2 - Dave Jenkins' Race Truck

In this episode, Truck Racer Dave Jenkins explains to Guy Martin and Morris Lubricants Technology Manager, Adrian Hill why using Morris Lubricants quality oils, greases and lubricants is so important to the success of his racing. Dave’s truck is put through extreme conditions and temperatures when competing, so using the correct oils and lubricants helps his truck to hit optimal performance and won’t let him down when out racing on the track.

Episode 3 - Guy Martin’s 300 MPH Bike Update

In this episode, Guy Martin gives an exclusive update on his 300 MPH bike challenge. He explains to Dave Jenkins and Morris Lubricants’ Technology Manager Adrian Hill, what he has been doing on his mile bike over the last year and how he is trying to get to the elusive 300 MPH on a motorbike in a mile. He compares the performance levels of this bike to standard road bikes and explains why this challenge is the ultimate test for Morris Lubricants’ motorcycle oils.​​​​​​​

Episode 4 - Guy Martin’s 300 MPH Bike Technical Review

In this episode, Guy Martin takes Morris Lubricants’ Technology Manager, Adrian Hill, through a technical review of his 300 MPH bike and details the Morris Lubricants oil he uses in it. Guy explains to Adrian the modifications he has made to the motorbike, with his aim to reach 300 MPH in a mile. Guy delves deep into the engineering of the bike which has so far helped him get to 276 MPH (officially), but that’s not enough for Guy! Adrian also finds out what Guy has planned next for this massive challenge.

Episode 5 - Oils Around The Workshop

In this episode, Guy Martin and Morris Lubricants’ Technology Manager, Adrian Hill are shown some of Truck Racer Dave Jenkins’ personal pride and joys in his own workshop including a replica of his Father’s (Tony Jenkins) original racing truck from the 1980s.
