Harvey Townsend, Morris Lubricants IT Support Apprentice Has Successfully Passed His Apprenticeship With Distinction.
Morris Lubricants is pleased to congratulate Harvey Townsend, IT Support Apprentice, on successfully achieving a distinction in his IT Support Technician Apprenticeship.
Harvey has been part of the Morris Lubricants team for just over a year. Reflecting on his contribution, Neil Taylor, Group IT Manager, said, “Harvey has been a fantastic addition to the IT department. His friendly personality has helped him build strong working relationships across the business. He has a real passion for IT, which is clear in his positive attitude and eagerness to learn.”
Day-to-day duties
In his role, Harvey is responsible for a wide range of tasks across the site. His day-to-day duties include building and repairing laptops, carrying out essential software updates, and resolving technical issues within the company’s systems. His role is key to ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations throughout the organisation.
The importance of an on-site IT team
Harvey highlights the value of having a dedicated IT team on site. He explained, “Having a specialised IT team on site helps us avoid unnecessary delays that can come with using external contractors. It can also be costly, and external providers may not fully understand the specific platforms we use. Our in-house team understands the complexity of our systems and plays a crucial role in maintaining their consistent and efficient performance.”
Achieving a distinction
To achieve his apprenticeship with distinction, Harvey completed a comprehensive portfolio of work to a high standard, demonstrating both technical knowledge and practical skills. He also undertook regular progress reviews throughout the programme.
Speaking about the technical elements of the apprenticeship, Harvey said, “I had to show a high level of competence in areas such as networking, backup and storage, as well as root cause analysis and problem solving.” His dedication and hard work enabled him to achieve this outstanding result.
Professional development
Harvey explained why this achievement is important to him, saying, “It demonstrates my capability within the industry and gives both myself and others confidence in my skills within a professional environment.”
Neil Taylor added, “Harvey is a great fit for the team. His positive attitude and strong work ethic really stand out. His enthusiasm for technology shines through in everything he does.”
Morris Lubricants continues to invest in the development of its people, particularly those at the start of their careers. By supporting young professionals entering the lubricants industry, the company welcomes fresh ideas, new perspectives and diverse educational backgrounds.
Harvey’s achievement highlights both his individual dedication and the strength of Morris Lubricants’ commitment to developing talent. His distinction reflects not only his technical ability but also his positive attitude and willingness to learn. As the company continues to invest in its people, successes like Harvey’s demonstrate the value of nurturing early careers and building a skilled, forward-thinking workforce for the future.
