Two Morris Lubricants Racing Ambassadors have been in action recently, with reigning Scottish Ladies Rally Champion Ashleigh Morris heading to Argyll and the McRae Rally Challenge. 9-times British Champion Luke Harris headed along to the British Upright Championship in Cheshire.
Ashleigh Morris
Scottish rally driver Ashleigh Morris has been in action over the past two weekends, competing at the Argyll Rally in the Scottish Rally Championship, before heading to McRae Rally Challenge at Knockhill Racing Circuit. At Argyll, the Fiesta R200 rally driver had a varied weekend; finding the going tough on Friday evening, before finding a ditch during a good run on the Saturday. Despite this, Ashleigh finished in an admirable eighth in class. At the McRae Rally Challenge, which is a challenge in the memory of the legendary rally driver Colin McRae, despite a few messy stages, Ashleigh performed superbly to finish fourth in class.
Ashleigh is competing at the RSAC Scottish Rally on the 23rd July next.
Luke Harris
Luke Harris headed to Cheshire for the British Upright Championships over the weekend, needing to finish as top point scorer over four races. In his first race, Luke took the win. As the track was a more 'classic' type of Grasstrack, it had its challenges and became hard work as the day preogressed. In the second race, despite nearly falling off, Luke took second place. In his third race, he led from start to finish, taking the win. This meant that in the final race, as long as Luke finished in second place or above, he would secure the 350cc Upright British Championship. Luke went above and beyond in the final race, taking the win and the title. This was Luke's fifth title in six years in this class.
Luke will next be competing at Frittenden on 17th July in the British Championship.
